Summer Appeal 2026

We at Vale Foodbank have launched our Summer Appeal for 2026. To ensure no family has to go without this Summer.

In this time of growing demand for food parcels as more and more families struggle to make ends meet in the current cost of living crisis we need your help. Especially as we have been experiencing a drop off in regular donations. People turn to us when their shelves are empty, but we can’t help if our shelves are empty too.

For many families, the summer holidays bring extra pressure. With children at home, food bills rise and already stretched budgets can quickly reach breaking point. Jenny knows this feeling all too well.

Despite her partner working seven days a week, rising living costs meant their family struggled to make ends meet. Bills piled up and putting food on the table became a constant worry.

Although she volunteered at the foodbank herself, Jenny felt embarrassed to ask for help. But when she did, she found more than emergency food. “Everyone was so kind,” Jenny says. “It wasn’t just about receiving food – I felt cared for.” Through the foodbank, Jenny received practical support, financial advice and a community that helped her regain confidence and hope for the future.

This summer, more families like Jenny’s will need help.
