In Barry, the FACT (Families Achieving Change Together) project is a local community and family support initiative run by the Vale of Glamorgan Council. It assists families, children, and young people up to age 18 in overcoming difficulties and reaching agreed goals through agency support.

Helping families break the cycle of domestic violence and abuse. Working to safeguard all adults and children.
THE VALE FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICE (run by Action for Children) provides 1-to-1 therapeutic and trauma-informed support to help families in the Vale of Glamorgan make positive changes, build resilience, and thrive safely at home. (can issue vouchers)

- Referral: All referrals must be submitted through an allocated social worker or the local Vale Family Compass team.
- Contact Early Help: For initial advice and general family support, call the Early Help Advice Line at 0808 281 6727 (Option 1).
- Children’s Services (Intake): If you are reporting an urgent concern about a child’s welfare, call the Intake Team via the same number, but select Option 3. In immediate danger, always call 999.
VOG Money Advice (can issue vouchers)
Council tenants who need support with financial matters can contact the Money Advice Team.
Whilst the team spends most of its time helping council tenants in arrears, they can support any council tenant who requires help with their money.
